Organizations Filed Purposes:
We organize and operate the Fairfield County Fair each year for the education of everyone and also to promote the benefits of agriculture.
Junior Fair entries for the fair. The Junior Fair promotes agriculture and develops leadership in the young people of the city and county. Junior Fair involves a wide range of subjects from cooking, sewing, engineering to machinery and animals, large and small. The 2020 fair was a Junior Fair only fair, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The general public was not allowed onto the fairgrounds. The Junior Fair showed their animals and all their finished projects.
Open Class entries for the fair. Open Class entries allows the general public to enter items into the fair to be judged and evaluated. This promotes a sense of community at the County Fair. These entries can range from cooking and canned goods to farm produce to cattle and hogs. There are a lot of opportunities for the general public to display at the county fair. Unfortunately at the 2020 fair this year the fair was closed to the general public due to the COVID-19 pandemic. No Fair entries were taken from the public.
Entertainment for the week of the fair. Entertainment at the fair is wide ranging and promotes a fun for all type of attitude. The entertainment is so varied it is truly depends on the individual as to what might be their favorite. It might be the monster truck event, the high school bands, the Harness Horse racing, horse pulls, combine derby or the auto demolition derbies. The varied entertainment brings everyone to the fair. The 2020 fair was a Junior Fair only fair and the only entertainment at the fair was harness horse racing. That is why the income and expenses are lower than usual for the fair in 2020.
