Organizations Filed Purposes: TO ENSURE THE EFFECTIVE AND EFFICIENT DELIVERY OF ALCOHOL, DRUG ADDICTION AND MENTAL HEALTH PREVENTION, INTERVENTION AND TREATMENT SERVICES TO PROMOTE THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF THE RESIDENTS OF FAIRFIELD COUNTY.

TREATMENT SERVICES: OUTPATIENT SERVICES ARE PROVIDED TO CLIENTS WITH ALCOHOL, DRUG AND MENTAL HEALTH RELATED PROBLEMS. SERVICES INCLUDE ASSESSMENT, INDIVIDUAL AND GROUP COUNSELING, INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT, CASE MANAGEMENT AND CRISIS MANAGEMENT AND CRISIS INTERVENTION. OTHER SERVICES INCLUDE REFERRAL AND INFORMATION, CASE CONSULTATION AND INTERVENTION. INDIVIDUALS RECEIVING THESE SERVICES COME WITH UNIQUE, THOUGH OFTEN NEGLECTED, SETS OF STRENGTHS AND SKILLS. THROUGH THEIR INTERACTION WITH THE COUNSELING STAFF AT THE RECOVERY CENTER. THEY CAN BUILD UPON THESE SKILLS AND STRENGTHS TO ACHIEVE THE GOAL OF A DRUG-FREE LIFE. THE RECOVERY CENTER OPERATES A MEDICALLY ASSISTED TREATMENT PROGRAM FOR INDIVIDUALS ADDICTED TO OPIATE DRUGS. IN ADDITION TO THE ADMINISTRATION OF OPIOID MEDICATION CLIENTS PARTICIPATE IN A FULL ARRAY OF SUPPORT SERVICES INCLUDING MEDICAL, COUNSELING, URINE TOXICOLOGY SCREENING AND OTHERS. THE GOALS ARE TO IMPROVE THEIR QUALITY OF LIFE AND ASSIST THEM IN THEIR RECOVERY PROCESS THUS ASSURING THEIR BECOMING PRODUCTIVE MEMBERS OF SOCIETY. TOTAL SERVICE HOURS 20,043 IN FY 2020.

PREVENTION: THE RECOVERY CENTER OFFERS MANY COMMUNITY BASED PREVENTION AND EDUCATION SERVICES. SCHOOL CURRICULUMS INCLUDE "TOO GOOD FOR DRUGS", "TOO GOOD FOR VIOLENCE", PROGRAMS FOR ELEMENTARY THROUGH HIGH SCHOOL CLASSES AND "RED FLAGS" DEPRESSION PREVENTION PROGRAM FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL CLASSROOMS. THE RECOVERY CENTER ALSO PROVIDES COUNTYWIDE TEEN INSTITUTE PEER PREVENTION ACTIVITIES FOR FAIRFIELD COUNTY STUDENTS. THESE ACTIVITIES INCLUDE SERVICE PROJECTS, TRAINING CONFERENCES AND SPECIAL EVENTS. THROUGH THESE ACTIVITIES STUDENTS INCREASE THEIR KNOWLEDGE OF HEALTH ALTERNATIVES TO ALCOHOL, TOBACCO AND OTHER DRUGS WITH THE SUPPORT OF THEIR PEERS. PREVENTION HOURS WERE GREATLY IMPACTED BY COVID-19. SCHOOLS WERE CLOSED, THEREFORE, SERVICES WERE NOT PROVIDED AT NORMAL CAPACITY. TOTAL SERVICE HOURS 2,174 IN FY 2020.
