Organizations Filed Purposes:
It is the mission of the Cincinnati Children's Choir to offer all children the opportunity to experience musical excellence in a creative environment. Participants demonstrate musical understanding, artistry, achievement, and confidence through passionate performances and collaborations with premiere ensembles and children's choirs throughout the world. CCC builds stronger communities by creating a comprehensive foundation that supports music educators and develops tomorrow's leaders.
General Choir Program - Provide quality choral music education programs for children and youth with musical performances around Greater Cincinnati, along with national and international touring. Approximately 365 children were served through a variety of 7 resident choirs and a satellite choir program consisting of 6 choirs. Due to COVID19 we were not able to run our Cincinnati Public Schools (CPS) Honor Choir program, which is an annual program that typically consists of 80+ CPS students, from 23+ different CPS schools, combining forces and performing with the CYC award-winning Bel Canto Choir in concert. The Resident Choir program pivoted to a virtual format to conclude the 2019-20 season.
Summer Festival - Due to COVID19 our Summer Festival pivoted to a week-long virtual festival, rather than in person on the University of Cincinnati campus. Approximately 45 participants had an opportunity to learn from prominent clinicians and develop comaraderie with peers from the community.
Queen City Choir Festival - This program was cancelled this year due to COVID19. Typically 4 to 6 children's choirs from across the country are hosted by the CCC Con Brio Choir for a three day festival held at the University of Cincinnati with education, performance and activities around the Greater Cincinnati area. Choirs had been recruited for this year, and work had begun on the Festival, but it had to be cancelled due to the pandemic.
