OHIO WILDLIFE CENTER OPERATES THE STATE'S LARGEST, DONATION-SUPPORTED WILDLIFE HOSPITAL, AND IS A LEADER IN NATIVE OHIO WILDLIFE RESCUE AND REHABILITATION. SINCE 1984, IT HAS PROVIDED VETERINARY CARE TO REHABILITATE INJURED, SICK OR ORPHANED WILD ANIMALS BROUGHT TO THE WILDLIFE HOSPITAL FROM A MULTI-COUNTY REGION IN CENTRAL OHIO. MORE THAN 6,000 PATIENTS A YEAR ARE CARED FOR AT ITS WILDLIFE HOSPITAL. CONSERVATION EDUCATION PROGRAMMING IS OFFERED TO THOUSANDS OF OHIOANS. SCRAM! WILDLIFE CONTROL, OPERATED BY THE CENTER, IS THE COMMUNITY'S LEADING NON-LETHAL, PERMANENT EVICTION AND EXCLUSION SERVICE FOR WILDLIFE IN HOMES AND BUSINESSES. OHIO WILDLIFE CENTER RECEIVES NO OPERATIONAL FUNDING FROM ANY STATE OR FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AGENCY. IT RELIES ON CHARITABLE DONATIONS TO SUPPORT ITS WILDLIFE HOSPITAL, EDUCATION CENTER, PROGRAMS AND SERVICES.
OHIO WILDLIFE CENTER IS A COMMUNITY RESOURCE FOR OHIO'S RESIDENTS IN WILDLIFE REHABILITATION AND CONSERVATION EDUCATION. THE CENTER HAS OVER 35 YEARS OF SERVICE TO OHIOANS AND HAS CARED FOR A TOTAL OF 135,000 ANIMALS. THE GOAL OF REHABILITATION SERVICES IS FULL RECOVERY AND RETURN TO THE WILD FOR EACH WILD ANIMAL BROUGHT TO THE WILDLIFE HOSPITAL. CONSERVATION EDUCATION PROGRAMS OFFER THE PUBLIC OPPORTUNITIES TO GAIN AWARENESS AND KNOWLEDGE ABOUT HUMAN-WILDLIFE CONFLICTS AND THE BENEFITS OF SUCCESSFULLY CO-EXISTING WITH WILDLIFE. SCRAM! WILDLIFE CONTROL PROVIDES GUIDANCE AND EXPERTISE TO THE PUBLIC SEEKING ASSISTANCE WITH WILDLIFE IN THEIR HOMES AND BUSINESSES. MORE THAN 12,000 OHIOANS SEEK HELP FROM THE CENTER'S INFOLINE EACH YEAR TO ADDRESS WILDLIFE CONFLICTS.FURTHER, THE OHIO WILDLIFE CENTER OFFERS A SIGNIFICANT COMMUNITY RESOURCE THROUGH ITS EMERGENCY RESPONSE, REHABILITATION AND MEDICAL CARE FOR INJURED, SICK AND ORPHANED WILDLIFE. THE WILDLIFE HOSPITAL ANNUALLY TREATS MORE THAN 6,000 ANIMALS, RELEASING THOUSANDS BACK TO THE WILD. CONSERVATION EDUCATION PROGRAMS ENGAGE STUDENTS OF ALL AGES WHO LEARN ABOUT THE NATURAL WORLD THROUGH THE PROGRAM'S RESIDENT ANIMAL AMBASSADORS.
