Group Homes: For the last seven years, Monarch Lifeworks has been developing specialized home environments with round-the-clock support, where adults with autism thrive. Employing 1:3 staffing ratios or better, our team of autism experts are trained in best-practices, including the Lifeworks Monarch Model, which emphasizes visual language supports and state-of-the-art technology. These residents live in a comfortable, secure home setting that is specifically designed to encourage independence, as well as strengthen social, communication and functional life skills. Morning through night, each day is highly structured and consistent, yet residents are given appropriate choices of free-time activities and household responsibilities based on their preferences and skill levels. Whether it's learning to prepare a favorite snack, folding a stack of laundry, or playing a video game, each activity fosters self-sufficiency and personal growth. Embedded in the Cleveland suburb of Shaker Heights, the houses are within walking distance of many restaurants, groceries, shops, parks and collegiate sporting events. These homes are close to cultural and recreational destinations in Cleveland which provide numerous opportunities for community involvement, visiting museums, community centers, libraries, Metroparks, theaters and more. Staff frequently take small groups of residents on outings to enhance their social experiences and practice communication skills. Many local establishments have become longtime favorites and welcome our clients on a regular basis.

Day Rehabilitation: The Monarch Adult Autism Program (MAAP), located in Cleveland, Ohio, is an individualized vocational, lifeskills and recreational program for adults with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). MAAP incorporates empirical assessment to identify preferences for vocational experience, as well as to determine participants' current capabilities in relevant domains. Following best-practice standards, experienced staff design individualized skill-building opportunities for onsite and community-based work experiences. MAAP employs facets of Monarch's evidence-based educational model. Program highlights include: Availability to individuals ages 18 and older with ASD who are no longer in high school; vocational and lifeskills experiences that are driven by assessment; the provision of opportunities for development in the areas of communication, social skills, vocational skills, independent living skills and community engagement; the provision of opportunities to engage in community-based simulated work, volunteering and recreation; and the professional service of an interdisciplinary team comprised of behaviorists, educators, counselors, social workers, psychiatrists, nurses and college-degreed direct care professionals.

Through the provision of Homemaker/ Personal Care services, trained professionals promote independence, social engagement, and ongoing development among residents. As in other Monarch Lifeworks homes, supports are tailored to promote structure and consistency for residents, while still affording them the ability to lead self-directed lives.
