Organizations Filed Purposes:
To promote economic development in the City of Ironton and the County of Lawrence, Ohio to act as the designated agent for providing governmental assistance to business enterprise and to promote the general economic development
Procurement - During the 2019 FY, the Southern Ohio Procurement Outreach Center worked with 200 active clients. The total number of contracts awarded to clients was 1880 (1864 prime and 16 sub-contracts).
LEDC - Completed a major remodel of our SPEC 5 building that now houses a national beverage company distribution center. Completed the five-unit strip mall. Began construction of two new SPEC buildings. Approximately 67 jobs were created through new businesses in 2019.
The Convention & Visitor's Bureau - Collaborated with various partners to enhance travel and tourism in Lawrence County. Worked with the Detroit Lions to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of the Ironton Tanks football team (purchased by the Lions in 1934). Organized and promoted a Christmas concert performance by Grammy-nominated artist John Berry.
