Organizations Filed Purposes: Protecting local farmland water natural resources

Tecumseh Land Preservation Association's core purpose is land preservation in Clark & Greene counties & surrounding areas. In 2019, we placed conservation easements on 6 properties for a total of 379 acres. $504,372 was secured from funding partners from TLT for the completion of 2 of these projects with 4 conservation easements being donated. We now hold 166 conservation easements on over 28,000 acres. 34 additional projects are in various stages of completion. A part of our effort is the multi-year Jacoby Creek Watershed Regional Conservation Partnership to protect land & water & including installing best conservation practices.

Stewardship-Once a conservation easement is placed on land, Tecumseh Land Preservation Association must ensure that all requirements of the easement are being complied with into perpertuity. Properties and landowners are visited for this purpose at least once a year. In 2019, all properties were visited.

A focus of the Tecumseh Land Preservation Association is educating landowners on their options for preserving their lands. We regularly mail over 650 landowners in Clark & Greene counties information on state and federal preservation programs as well as easement donating options. We are in the office M-F from 8 am to 5 pm to answer questions. We will also schedule evening or weekend meeting with landowners.
