Organizations Filed Purposes:
Simba Educational Ministries mission is to further the Kingdom of God by equipping and empowering Kenyan children with the boldness of Jesus Christ, for the sake of the Gospel, through a Christ-centered education.
Sponsorships Sponsorship still remains one of our most important programs in Kenya. We currently are sponsoring 320 children to different elementary schools and high schools. We partner with over 40 high schools and 3-4 elementary schools. We are still focused on sponsoring children coming from the most needy homes and backgrounds. Most of the children are coming from homes where they are orphaned, widowed, or the parents are not able to provide for their children. This last year we sponsored three children to a school and these three children scored in the 98 percentiles in all of Kenya.
Outreach Trips Last year we sent 5 different mission teams each with their own focus. Our first team was 18 medical nurses, doctors, and supporting staff partnering with nurses and doctors in Kenya seeing 1,500 people in just two clinics. Next was our sports team of 12. We held sports camps and talked to the children we sponsor in Kenya. Next was the teachers group where American teachers held a workshop with Kenyan teachers. The group was 8 people who helped to join in the workshop with 20 Kenyan teachers. Next was our vocational bible study group of 14 people and we held a 4-day camp for children in Kenya. The number of children that came to the VBS was 500. The last group was our business team of 15 people. The goal of this trip was to interact with the Kenyan business leaders and see different business practices. A total of 67 people was able to go to Kenya and experience the culture. Some got to meet the children they sponsor. As of today, we have 142 who have met the child they sponsor face to face.
Building Projects We were able to build a tailoring and business center totaling 50,000 and also helped purchase the 4 acres with this account. The tailoring and business center will be used to employee family members from the different children we sponsor. They will be learning how to sew school uniforms and many other things. It will also be used as a place to hold weekly bible studies and meetings.
