TO SUPPORT PROGRAMS AND ADVANCE EFFORTS THAT FURTHER ECONOMIC PROSPERITY AND CULTURAL VITALITY IN RURAL SOUTH DAKOTA.
PROVIDED EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS AND INFORMATION TO THE YOUTH OF SOUTH DAKOTA. THE FOUNDATION HOSTED 45+ YOUTH CAMPS ACROSS THE STATE, WHICH AROUND 1,000 YOUTHS ATTENDED; SPONSORED A SAFETY QUIZ BOWL FOR 80+ HIGH SCHOOLERS DURING THE STATE'S FFA CONVENTION; AND GRANTED THREE 500 SCHOLARSHIPS TO AREA YOUTH.
ENHANCED ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVES TO MEET THE NEEDS OF SOUTH DAKOTA'S RURAL CITIZENS. THE FOUNDATION CONTINUED DEVELOPMENT OF TWO PROGRAMS: RURAL ECONOMIC AND LEADERSHIP (REAL), DEVELOPED FOR ALL RURAL SOUTH DAKOTANS, AND JUNIOR RURAL ECONOMIC AND LEADERSHIP (JR. REAL), DEVELOPED FOR RURAL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS. THE PROGRAMS ALLOWED PARTICIPANTS FROM RURAL COMMUNITIES TO NETWORKS WITH OTHERS THROUGHOUT THE STATE, WHILE DEVELOPING SKILLS RELATED TO PERSONAL MOTIVATION, LEADERSHIP STRATEGY, GOAL ACHIEVEMENT, AND COMMUNITY GROWTH. THERE WERE 15 PARTICIPANTS FOR REAL, AND 500+ FOR JR. REAL.
