Organizations Filed Purposes:
To provide shelter, safety, and advocacy for individuals victimized by violence.
We provide shelter and support to individuals in need. This includes food, clothing and other necessary items for a victim's needs. We also provide a twenty-four hour response to crisis calls and intervention. We have on site a full kitchen, washers/dryers, a full playground, plus a children's toy room for children in the shelter. Our advocates offer support groups on a weekly basis for domestic violence and sexual assault for out shelter residences.
We provide educational opportunities on prevention strategies, community education, outreach to victims and thier families. There were more than 102 community members at our various events, presentations and activities. We trained community members on issues about sexual assault, domestic violence, stalking and dating violence, and children exposed to violence. We are present at most community activities, setting up booths or giving presentations.
We provide direct assistance to individuals. This assistance includes cultural healing and traditional spirituality learning that is intrinsic to our services. We provide transportation to local services and organizations. This includes travel to meetings, job sites, the local tribal university or G.E.D. classes, health and mental health providers, daycare services, and both civil and criminal court hearings.
