ONE SMILE PROGRAM:The South Dakota Dental Foundation launched a new program in 2019 called One Smile. The program was created for children ages eight and under who need to have their dental treatment done in a hospital setting, but their family cant afford the full cost of the treatment, the hospitalization and anesthesia. One Smile Program is supported by the South Dakota Dental Foundation and Delta Dental Foundation of South Dakota. Participating dentists who have hospital privileges discount their care. Participating hospitals and anesthetists and anesthesiologists discount their care. The South Dakota Dental Foundation covers the discounted costs of the hospital and anesthesiology. Families contribute $250 toward the cost of their childs care.
