Organizations Filed Purposes:
THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF CHIEFS OF POLICE (THE IACP) IS DEDICATED TO ADVANCING THE POLICING PROFESSION THROUGH ADVOCACY, RESEARCH, OUTREACH, AND EDUCATION IN ORDER TO PROVIDE FOR SAFER COMMUNITIES WORLDWIDE.
SHAPING THE FUTURE OF THE POLICING PROFESSION.
FEDERAL GRANTSTHE IACP WORKS COLLABORATIVELY WITH SEVERAL FEDERAL AGENCIES ON ISSUES AND TOPICS THAT ARE IMPORTANT TO THE LAW ENFORCEMENT PROFESSION AND ITS STAKEHOLDERS. THE FEDERAL AGENCIES THAT THE IACP WORKS WITH INCLUDE THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE, THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, AND THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF STATE. THE IACP WORKED ON MORE THAN 50 FEDERAL GRANTS IN FISCAL YEAR 2019 AND PRODUCED IMPORTANT RESOURCES FOR THE FIELD AND CONDUCTED TRAININGS FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT PERSONNEL.
IACP ANNUAL CONFERENCE AND EXPOSITION, OCTOBER 27-29, 2019, CHICAGO, ILLINOISTHE IACP HELD ITS ANNUAL CONFERENCE AGAIN IN FY19, BRINGING IN 18,247 ATTENDEES FROM 79 COUNTRIES TOGETHER. THERE WERE 668 EXHIBITORS, 273 EDUCATION SESSIONS, AND OVER 200 EVENTS IN HOTELS OR OTHER VENUES HELD DURING THE CONFERENCE. THE EVENT PROVIDED A FORUM FOR OUR MEMBERS AND OTHER LEADERS IN LAW ENFORCEMENT AND RELATED FIELDS TO COME TOGETHER TO SHARE IDEAS, IDENTIFY ISSUES, BUILD RELATIONSHIPS, AND FORMULATE SOLUTIONS. A MEMORABLE HIGHLIGHT WAS THE HISTORIC SIGNING OF THE EXECUTIVE ORDER ON THE COMMISSION ON LAW ENFORCEMENT AND THE ADMINISTRATION OF JUSTICE, AN OVER TWO-DECADE PRIORITY OF THE IACP.
INFORMATION SERVICES INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING:POLICY CENTER - FOR OVER 30 YEARS, THE IACP LAW ENFORCEMENT POLICY CENTER HAS BEEN IDENTIFYING LEADING PRACTICES AND PROVIDING SOUND GUIDANCE TO THE LAW ENFORCEMENT PROFESSION TO ASSIST IN DEVELOPING POLICIES FOR INDIVIDUAL DEPARTMENTS.LEGISLATIVE BY SERVING AS THE PROFESSIONAL VOICE OF LAW ENFORCEMENT, IACP WORKS TO ENSURE THAT COMMUNITY STAKEHOLDERS, LEGISLATORS, AND OTHER GROUPS UNDERSTAND ISSUES RELATED TO LAW ENFORCEMENT AND PUBLIC SAFETY AND THAT MEMBERS AND OTHERS IN THE FIELD ARE ABLE TO LEARN FROM GLOBAL BEST PRACTICES.PC MAGAZINE THE POLICE CHIEF IS THE OFFICIAL PUBLICATION OF THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF CHIEFS OF POLICE.IACPNET IACP NET PROVIDES A PREMIER ONLINE INFORMATION NETWORK FOR LEADERS. IACP NET DEVELOPS AND MANAGES A SECURE PLATFORM OF INTUITIVE ONLINE RESOURCES, TOOLS, AND E-LIBRARIES SO LAW ENFORCEMENT LEADERS CAN MAKE INFORMED, DATA-DRIVEN DECISIONS.
