Nascent Continues to implement its five-year (2018-2023) McGovern-Dole International Food for Education and Child Nutrition program in Cameroon. The objective of the program is to improv the literacy of school-age children and promote the use of good health and nutrition practice. Nascent was awarded the 2018 International Food Relief Partnership (IFRP) grant to implement a 15 month program to benefit 9500 vulnerable people in Mesaje and Bum sub-divisions of the North West regions of Cameroon. The objective of the project was to increase the access of 1900 people living with HIV/AIDs and increase their knowledge and use of good health practices in their households. Nascent distributed 75.04 MT of shelf stable prepackaged food. The total grant amount was $372,300,27. The commodity value of the grant was $222,341.27. Nascent actually received and distributed $222,118.40 worth of commodities. During the year 2019 the direct cost of the program was $293,709.07 including the commodities. Nascent was awarded the 2018 IFRP grant for Sierra Leone to implement a 15 month program to reduce the prevalence of malnutrition among young children in Moyamba District, Southern Province of Sierra Leone. The objectives of the project are to increase the access of 3,700 children to supplementary food, increase caregivers' knowledge and use of good nutrition and hygiene practices and increase caregivers' use of improved gardening and livelihood skill. Nascent will distribute 36MT of commodities. The total grant amount with the commodity is $255,884.16 including a commodity grant is $ 107,147.16. Nascent actually receive and distributed $107,148 worth of commodity. During the year 2019 the direct cost of the program is $ 184,016.51 including commodity $107,148.
