NCC AP SERVICES - THE NATIONAL CERTIFICATION COMMISSION FOR ADDICTION PROFESSIONALS (NCCAP), UNDER THE AUSPICES OF NAADAC,THE ASSOCIATION FOR ADDICTION PROFESSIONALS, OPERATES AS AN INDEPENDENT BODY FOR ALL MATTERS INVOLVING THE ASSOCIATION'S SUBSTANCE USE DISORDERS COUNSELOR AND ENDORSEMENT OPPORTUNITIES AT THE NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL LEVEL. ESTABLISHED IN 1990, THE NCCAP HAS INDEPENDENT AUTONOMY IN THE DEVELOPMENT AND PROMULGATION OF STANDARDS FOR TESTING, INCLUDING WHO QUALIFIES FOR THE EXAMS, CONTENT ADMINISTRATION, SCORING AND APPEALS. SPECIFIALLY, THE NCCAP DEVELOPS AND KEEPS CURRENT NATIONAL STANDARDS OF REQUISITE KNOWLEDGE IN SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER COUNSELING, PROVIDES EVALUATION MECHANISMS FOR MEASURING AND MONITORING THE LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED FOR NATIONAL CREDENTIALING, PROVIDES FORMAL RECOGNITION TO THOSE INDIVIDUALS WHO MEET THE NATIONAL STANDARDS, AND ESTABLISHES APPROPRIATE POLICIES FOR ACQUIRING AND MAINTAINING THE NATIONAL CREDENTIALS.

THE NMFP-AC W1LL INCREASE THE NUMBER OF CULTURALLY-COMPETENT MASTER'S LEVEL ADDICTION COUNSELORS AVAILABLE TO SERVE UNDERSERVED POPULATIONS, INCLUDING MINORITY AND LGBT POPULATIONS AND TRANSITION AGE YOUTH (AGES 16-25) BY PROVIDING TUITION STIPENDS OF UP TO $15,000, TRAINING, PROFESSIONAL GUIDANCE, AND MENTORING TO STUDENTS ENROLLED EITHER IN AN ADDICTIONS COUNSELING MASTER'S PROGRAM OR A MASTER'S PROGRAM WITH A CONCENTRATION IN ADDICTIONS COUNSELING FROM AN ACCREDITED INSTITUTION.

NAADAC HAS AN EXTENSIVE COLLECTION OF ONLINE AND PRINT MATERIALS COVERING A WIDE RANGE OF TOPICS, INCLUDING THE BASICS OF ADDICTION COUNSELING, PHARMACOLOGY, ETHICS,CO-OCCURING DISORDERS, CONFLICT RESOLUTION FOR RECOVERY, MEDICATION-ASSISTED TREATMENT & RECOVERY (MATR), SBIRT, AND MUCH MORE ADVANCES IN ADDICTION & RECOVERY, THE OFFICIAL PUBL1CAT1ON OF NAADAC, IS A QUARTERLY MAGAZINE FOR NAADAC MEMBERS FOCUSED ON PROVIDING USEFUL, INNOVATIVE, AND TIMELY INFORMATION ON TRENDS AND BEST PRACTICES FOR THE ADDICTION PROFESSION NAADAC'S ADDICTION & RECOVERY ENEWS IS A BI-WEEKLY ENEWSLETTER DELIVERING BREAKING NEWS, INNOVATIONS, RESEARCH, AND TRENDS TO OVER 48,000 ADDICTION PROFESSIONALS.
