Emergency ResponseWhen disasters strike and people find themselves in need of essential goods and services, Penny Appeal USA is there to help. Weve assisted over 4,000 individuals with life-saving food, s helter, water, and have also paid out cash grants. Domestically, we aided those affected by the Government Shutdown early in the year. In total, $43,500 was distributed, directly benefiting over 7,000 individuals. Internationally, we responded to the dire humanitarian situations in Yemen, Syria and Bangladesh and responded to natural disasters in The Bahamas and Mozambique. 80,000+ in need benefitted from cash assistance and food, water and hygiene kit distributions.
OrphanKindOrphaned children deserve the best in life. Thats why weve opted to do away with the 1:1 model. With multiple donors providing each child with all the essentials for their emotional, psychological, and physical growth, we can help every orphan pave a sustainable way to a brighter future in the face of tremendous loss. Your support provides nutritious meals, clothes, healthcare and an education to orphaned children in over eight countries. With multiple donors providing each child with all the essentials for their emotional, psychological, and physical growth, we help orphans pave a sustainable way to a brighter future in the face of tremendous loss across eight countries. In 2019, over 690 orphans were sponsored by 416 individuals. We also continued the support towards construction of the Orphan Kind Village in Pakistan, which will help transform the lives of poor orphan children for a better future in a family setting.
Thirst ReliefThrough our Thirst Relief programs, were providing safe water to enable communities to drink, wash, clean and irrigate their crops as w ell as hydrate their animals. Our Thirst Relief programs lead to healthier lives, better educated communities and a route out of poverty. We know that investing in clean, safe water leads directly to economic growth. By providing access to clean wateras well as sanitation and hygiene educationwe are working to promote educated, healthy and economically independent communities. 18 Deep wells, 181 hand pumps and 4 solar wells were installed across nine countries. Through these efforts we are able to provide over 40,000 individual with access to clean water.
