Organizations Filed Purposes: Educational Programs and Scholarships for College Students

Media Fellow Scholarships (Spring/Fall) In lieu of spending money on the annual Network Reception that was cancelled due to Covid-19 restrictions, 47 scholarships were awarded in the range of $1,000 - $3,000. Scholarships were given upon a review process based on merit and financial need.

Media Case Competition Nearly 138 undergraduates participated in the 2020 case competition from schools across the country. 12 finalists were chosen to compete by zoom, due to the Covid-19 restrictions, judged by a planel of media professionals. The winners of the competition from Binghamton University earned $5,000 in scholarships and the two runner-ups from Iowa State University won $3,000 in scholarships. In addition, $500 was given to each remaining student who did not place in the competition. Also, a special memorial award of $2,000 was given to one student in memory of a deceased former WMSF winner.

Media Scholars Advertising/Outreach Due to Covid-19 restrictions on the Annual Networking Reception and travel, money was redirected to an advertising/outreach campaign to reach more students majoring in Public Policy in need of financial assistance.
