The International Institute for Sustainable Laboratories (I2SL)is devoted to the principles of sustainable laboratories - from design to engineering to practice.
Labs 21 Annual Conference: I2SL has been the non-federal co-sponsor with the US Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Dept. of Energy of Labs 21 since 2006 In this reporting period, I2SL held its 2019 Annual Conference in Denver CO. This event is the only known conference focused on energy efficiency and environmental sustainability. The event attracted over 500 participants and offered 125 educational presentations providing continujing education credits for architects, engineers, planners and others to help maintain their annual licenses. I2Sl also was chosen by the US Department of Energy to maintain its Smart Lab Partnership program. I2SL also offered many educational courses through its fifteen national and international chapters. I2SL also awarded winners of its Internation Laboratory Freezer Challenge, the Go Beyond program, and its environmental procurement program. I2SL continued to provide technical materials through volunteers developing case studies and best practices.
