Organizations Filed Purposes:
THE ASSOCIATION IS COMMITTED TO ENHANCE A FAVORABLE BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT FOR MEMBERS OF THE ASSOCIATION BY REPRESENTING THEIR INTERESTS CONCERNING FEDERAL AND STATE LEGISLATION AND REGULATION, KEEPING MEMBERS INFORMED OF DEVELOPMENTS IMPORTANT TO THEM, HELPING MEMBERS OPERATE MORE EFFICIENTLY, AND COOPERATING ON PROJECTS OF MUTUAL INTEREST WITH OTHER ORGANIZATIONS IMPORTANT TO THE FEED AND ANIMAL AGRICULTURE INDUSTRIES.
THE OBJECTIVES AND PURPOSES OF THE ASSOCIATION ARE TO PROVIDE LEADERSHIP THAT REPRESENTS THE INTERESTS OF THE FEED INDUSTRY AND ANIMAL AGRICULTURE INDUSTRIES RELATIVE TO STATE AND FEDERAL LEGISLATION AND REGULATION, TO PROVIDE LEADERSHIP AND REPRESENT THE INTERESTS OF THE FEED AND ANIMAL AGRICULTURE INDUSTRIES ON FOOD SAFETY, ANIMAL NUTRITION, ANIMAL WELFARE, ANIMAL HEALTH, EQUIPMENT, SALES AND MARKETING, INGREDIENT PURCHASING, PRODUCTION, TRANSPORTATION, SAFETY, ENERGY, ENVIRONMENT, AND OTHER SUBJECTS IMPORTANT TO MEMBERS, TO PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR EMPLOYEES OF MEMBER COMPANIES CONCERNING MANAGEMENT, NUTRITION, PRODUCTION, MARKETING, PURCHASING, ENVIRONMENT, SAFETY, ANIMAL HEALTH, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY, AND OTHER SUBJECTS, TO KEEP MEMBERS INFORMED OF ISSUES IMPORTANT TO THEM AND PROVIDE A FORUM FOR MEMBER ACTION, AND TO WORK TO EXPAND GLOBAL BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES OF MEMBERS AND FOSTER INTERNATIONAL DEMAND FOR INDUSTRY PRODUCTS, TECHNOLOGIES, AND SERVICES.
CONFERENCES, SEMINARS, AND MEETINGS - DURING THE FISCAL YEAR AFIA FACILITATED MANY MEETINGS AND EDUCATIONAL CONFERENCES TO DISCUSS VARIOUS ISSUES IMPORTANT TO THE INDUSTRY AS A WHOLE AND PROPERLY EQUIP MEMBERS FOR THE CHALLENGES OF TODAY'S INDUSTRY ENVIRONMENT. MEETINGS AFIA HELD OR WAS AFFILIATED WITH INCLUDED THE 2020 U.S. POULTRY AND EGG INTERNATIONAL FEED EXPO.
AFIA JOURNAL - THE ASSOCIATION ISSUES A SEMI-ANNUAL JOURNAL THAT INCLUDES A VARIETY OF TOPICS THAT ARE TIMELY AND RELEVANT FOR THE U.S. FEED INDUSTRY AND ITS SUPPLIERS. THE MOST RECENT ISSUE OF THE JOURNAL INCLUDED INDUSTRY NEWS AND UPDATES, ANALYSIS ON LEGISLATIVE AND REGULATORY ITEMS, INFORMATION REGARDING THE ASSOCIATION'S CONFERENCES AND SEMINARS, AS WELL AS IMPORTANT MEMBERSHIP DATA AND HIGHLIGHTS.
MEMBER INTEREST GROUPS - THE ASSOCIATION MAINTAINS OFFICIALLY RECOGNIZED GROUPS WHICH ARE SPECIFIC TO AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY AND EXPERTISE ACROSS THE ASSOCIATION'S MEMBERSHIP. THE ROLE OF THESE GROUPS IS TO SHARE INFORMATION WITH MEMBER REPRESENTATIVES SPECIFIC TO THE GROUP AND ALSO GAIN THEIR INPUT AND DATA WHICH WILL ASSIST THE ASSOCIATION'S STAFF IN DEVELOPING ISSUE POSITIONS OR MEMBER SERVICES.
