CAREER EDUCATION COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES, PREVIOUSLY NAMED THE ASSOCIATION OF PRIVATE SECTOR COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES, IS AN ORGANIZATION OF PRIVATE, POSTSECONDARY CAREER COLLEGES, SCHOOLS AND OTHER ENTITIES ESTABLISHED TO FOSTER POLICIES TO ENSURE EQUITABLE ACCESS FOR STUDENTS TO QUALITY CAREER AND SKILL EDUCATION, ENABLE CAREER COLLEGES TO GROW AND PROSPER, AND HELP THE NATION ATTAIN A MORE GLOBALLY COMPETITIVE WORKFORCE.
GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS: PROVIDED FEDERAL AND STATE LEGISLATIVE ADVOCACY ON ISSUES RELATING TO POSTSECONDARY ACCESS, AFFORDABILITY, AND ACCOUNTABILITY; FAIR TREATMENT FOR SECTION 102 INSTITUTIONS IN OTHER FEDERAL PROGRAMS; WORKED FOR REASONABLE REGULATION AND REGULATORY OVERSIGHT AT THE FEDERAL AND STATE LEVELS; AND LED GRASSROOTS MOBILIZATION EFFORTS AIMED AT GAINING WIDESPREAD PARTICIPATION OF CECU MEMBERS IN ADVOCACY OUTREACH.
COMMUNICATIONS/PUBLIC AFFAIRS: WORKED TO ADVANCE THE IMAGE, REPUTATION AND PERCEPTION OF THE CAREER COLLEGE SECTOR THROUGH A WIDE VARIETY OF OUTREACH EFFORTS, PROGRAMS AND CHANNELS; MAINTAINED REGULAR MEDIA RELATIONS PROGRAM AND CRAFTED REGULAR COMMUNICATIONS VEHICLES, INCLUDING PRINT PUBLICATIONS, DIGITAL PUBLICATIONS, WEBSITE BLOGS, ETC.
COVENTION, CONFERENCES AND SEMINARS: PROVIDED CECU MEMBERS WITH TIMELY INFORMATION AND NETWORKING PLATFORMS FOR FEDERAL REGULATORY COMPLIANCE, MANAGEMENT BEST PRACTICES, INTERACTION WITH OFFICIALS AND EXPERTS FROM OUTSIDE THE SECTOR, AND EXPOSURE TO NEW PRODUCTS AND SERVICES. SIX PROGRAMS WERE HELD DURING THE YEAR WITH APPROXIMATELY 1,200 IN ATTENDANCE.
