Join the Journey (JTJ) is a Christ-centered empowerment organization that seeks to uplift entrepreneurs in third-world countries facing extreme poverty by helping them launch businesses. JTJ is also a compassion-in-action organization that provides food aid at critical times in a community's yearly life cycle. Join the Journey serves all people regardless of race, ethnicity, religious affiliation, or gender.
Join the Journey (JTJ) is a Christian organization dedicated to alleviating poverty through economic empowerment. We provide grant funds to non-governmental organizations and churches in third-world countries who facilitate micro-lending programs that help individuals launch local businesses. We truly believe in a 'hand up, not a hand out' and have seen the impact when individuals can feed their families through successful businesses. Additionally, we provide grant funds for food aid to build community capacity and overall demonstrate compassion under the Christian tenets of our organization. We currently operate through partnerships in Haiti, the Philippines, Cameroon, and Peru.
Micro-loan Grants- The organization partners with local churches and non-governmental organizations in third-world countries to administer empowerment programs meant to increase the livlihood of impoverished families. Our foreign partners administer micro-loans to qualified beneficiaries. Additional expenses in this category include costs for oversight of the program and reporting.
Compassion Grants - JTJ partners with local churches to facilitate grants meant to sustain immediate needs, primarily in the form of food aid and benevolence . These grants has also encompassed educational materials. Funds allocated under this program effort also included funds directed to assist a an orphanage in Peru.
Gospel Advance- Join the Journey sponsors church activities, to include infrastructure support, through our local partners. This program ensures that support is provided to deliver Christian teaching and worship activities to support Kingdom building in the places where we facilitate micro-loan activities. In 2019 specifically, JTJ sponsored the building of a local church in Titanyen, Haiti alongside its local partner Haiti Compassion Work there.
