THIS LEGACY NOURISHED GENERATIONS OF INDIVIDUALS DEDICATED TO MEETING THE MORAL AND CULTURAL CHALLENGES OF THE DAY THROUGH THE RIGOROUS STUDY OF CONTEMPORARY AMERICA AND RECLAIMING OF THE ENDURING PRINCIPLES OF THE AMERICAN CONSTITUTIONAL TRADITION. CONCEIVED IN THAT SPIRIT, THE PUBLIC INTEREST FELLOWSHIP FOUNDATION PROVIDES EXCEPTIONAL YOUNG MEN AND WOMEN WITH PROFESSIONAL LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES AND A CONTINUING EDUCATION IN THE TRADITION OF FREEDOM. THE UNIQUE COMBINATION OF WORK AND STUDY IS DESIGNED TO ADVANCE A FELLOWS PURSUIT OF CAREERS DEVOTED TO ENRICHING THE CULTURAL LIFE OF THE UNITED STATES.

SEMINARS - THE FELLOWS STUDIED POLITICAL PHILOSOPHY AND DEBATE, WHICH INCLUDED SEMINARS WITH THE HOOVER INSTITUTION'S TAD AND DIANE TAUBE SENIOR FELLOW, PETER BERKOWITZ. THE TOPICS COVERED WRITINGS ON FOREIGN AFFAIRS AND NATIONAL SECURITY CHALLENGES FROM THE 20TH AND 21ST CENTURIES INCLUDED ALEXIS DE TOCQUEVILLE, JOHN LOCKE, THE AMERICAN CONSTITUTION, AND THE FEDERALIST PAPERS.

PUBLICATIONS - THE FELLOWS WORKED FULL-TIME WITH PUBLICATIONS, THINK-TANKS, AND OBJECTIVE NON-PARTISAN POLICY FIRMS OVER THE COURSE OF A YEAR. IN TOTAL, THEY SPENT OVER 15,000 HOURS WORKING ON PROJECTS CONCERNED WITH VARIOUS ASPECTS OF AMERICAN PUBLIC LIFE.

RETREATS - THE PUBLIC INTEREST FELLOWSHIP HOSTED THREE RETREATS THAT COVERED A HISTORY OF AMERICAN DOMESTIC POLICY CHALLENGES IN THE LATE 20TH AND 21ST CENTURIES, CONTEMPORARY POLICY ISSUES, AND VARIETIES OF CONSERVATIVE THOUGHT AND PRACTICE SINCE WORLD WAR II.
