Shirlington Employment and Education Center (SEEC) mission is to provide a safe venue for inmigrants seeking employment opprtunities in VA
Approximately 940 jobs were placed with SEEC day laborers at 2 Arlington County locations. The staff assisted with jobs referrals, collecting unpaid wages, referral of medical services for those injured on a job, and assistance with jobs applications.
SEEC established a close working relationships with and provide support for Arlington Food Assistance Center where many of the Center's clients obtained foods. A total of 8 churches came to us to distribute bag lunches. A total of 62 visits were made providing 3,200 meals year.
SEEC staff provides vocacional and education classes teaching job skills, safety and basic English to construction and landscaping positions held by day laborers. Related to green cleaning of office buildings using biodegradable and environmentally friendly cleaning.
