ON ISSUES AS WIDE-RANGING AS REFORMING THE TOXIC SUBSTANCES CONTROL ACT (TSCA), TO AUTHORIZING THE CHEMICAL FACILITY ANTI-TERRORISM STANDARDS(CFATS), TO INTERNATIONAL TRADE AND THE RESOURCE CONSERVATION AND RECOVERY ACT (RCRA). SOCMA'S ADVOCACY EFFORTS CONTINUE TO ENGAGE LEGISLATORS AND REGULATORS ALIKE THROUGH TRADITIONAL, SOCIAL MEDIA AND GRASSROOTS MOBILIZATION.

TECHNICAL AND SAFETY:PROVIDES AN ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH, SAFETY AND SECURITY (EHS &S) MANAGEMENT PROGRAM FOR MEMBERS AND AN INDUSTRY CHEMICAL OPERATIONS TRAINING TOOL FOR COMPANIES TO INCORPORATE BEST PRACTICES AND IMPROVE ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH, SAFETY & SECURITY (EHS&S) PERFORMANCE. THE EHS&S CHEMSTEWARDS PROGRAM FACILITATES THE SUCCESSFUL IMPLEMENTATION OF BEST PRACTICES FOR MEMBER COMPANIES. THROUGH THE CHEMSTEWARDS PORTAL, THE MANAGEMENT AND COMPLIANCE OF THE EHS&S PROGRAM PROVIDES MEMBERS COMPANIES AN EASY-TO-USE RESOURCE THAT SAVES TIME AND MONEY BY HAVING ALL CHEMSTEWARDS AND RELATED EHS&S DOCUMENTS IN ONE CENTRALIZED REPOSITORY. THE WEB-BASED REPOSITORY SYSTEM ALLOWS FOR MORE EFFICIENT MANAGEMENT OF THE CHEMSTEWARDS PROGRAM FOR MEMBERS COMPANIES. MEMBERS HAVE THE ABILITY TO SHARE MORE EHS&S INFORMATION AND INCREASES THE PRODUCTIVITY FOR THOSE MANAGING THIS IMPORTANT FUNCTION AT THEIR RESPECTIVE CHEMICAL MANUFACTURING FACILITIES. THE CHEMICAL OPERATIONS TRAINING TOOL IS DESIGNED FOR CHEMICAL MANUFACTURING PLANTS IN NEED OF SUPERIOR OPERATOR TRAINING WITH INTERACTIVE 3D ANIMATIONS OF PROCESS EQUIPMENT AND SELF-GUIDED EXERCICES. THE TOOL IS A COMPREHENISVE PROGRAM AND AVAILABLE THROUGH AN ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTION.
