Organizations Filed Purposes:
The organization was a trade association of professional builders, developers & associated firms & individuals engaged directly or indirectly in home building.
In August 2016, the HBA was effectively dissolved & their charter with National Association of Home Builders was revoked. In the current period, there was only one receipt which was a refund of liability insurance paid. The expenditures were limited to a 6-month post office box rental, payments for bookkeeping & tax preparation, and finally donations to 3 local non-profit organizations to distribute remaining cash and to close bank account. Activity basically ceased following the March 2015 Home Show. The driving force of the HBA was a key volunteer member who began to suffer with poor health. He became inactive & as a result there was no member or volunteer that stepped up to take the members place. There was a written plea for member involvement sent to the members by mail in September 2015 but there was no response. Two more written pleas were made in January 2016 & March 2016 but no response was received. Notification to NAHB & Home Builders Association of Virginia of the intent to dissolve was made on 6/27/2016 and 7/1/2016 and was accepted.
