To fund targeted educational and research programs and industry tools that will benefit the segmental concrete paver industry, in line with the strategic goals of ICPI, in a financially sustainable way.
Oklahoma State University Research- Developing deflection acceptance criteria for compacted, open-graded aggregate bases for permeable pavements using lightweight deflectometers (LWDS): An extensive literature review was delivered last January per the contract and reviewed by the Foundation Program Committee. The project was placed on hold in March as OSU was closed due to Covid-19. OSU is in the process of reopening and the project is moving forward. Additional work includes laboratory tests in a large test bed with compacted aggregate, full-scale field testing on open-graded aggregate bases typical to PICP are to be built next spring and tested. This will be accompanied by finite element modeling and a compaction control specification written in AASHTO format for eventual submission to AASHTO.
PDP Software Upgrade - Modifications to Permeable Design Pro software program to include a structural design method developed by the University of California Pavement Research Center from mechanistic modeling and with validation via full-scale load testing of permeable interlocking concrete pavement.
Program Committee- Other expenditures that help to further accomplish the organization's exempt purpose.
