TECHNICAL SERVICES - SMACNA PUBLISHES TECHNICAL RESOURCES. ACCOMPLISHMENTS DURING 2020 WERE: 1) PUBLISHED TECHNICAL RESOURCES BULLETIN; 2) COMPLETED SMACNA SYSTEM LEAKAGE TEST MANUAL; 3) WORKED WITH THE CALIFORNIA ENERGY COMMISSION FOR THE INCLUSION OF THE CORE ASPECTS OF THE SMACNA SYSTEM & DUCT LEAKAGE TEST MANUALS; AND 4) CONTINUED WORK WITH AIR MOVEMENT CONTROL ASSOCIATION ON INDUSTRY POSITIONS/PAPERS FOR VENTILATION SYSTEMS.
LABOR RELATIONS - SMANCNA PROVIDES GUIDANCE, LEGAL AND PRACTICAL ADVICE ON ISSUES RELATING TO BARGAINING, LEAVE AND OTHER HEALTH ISSUES. DURING 2020, THE COLLECTIVE BARGAINING ORIENTATION, HELD VIRTUALLY, PROVIDED BARGAINERS WITH INFORMATION ON THE LEGAL FRAMEWORK FOR BARGAINING, GUIDANCE ON PREPARING FOR BARGAINING AND INFORMATION ON HOW TO AVOID THE COMMON PITFALLS OF BARGAINING. THE EMPLOYMENT SHARE REPORT PROVIDED SMACNA'S CHAPTERS WITH COMPREHENSIVE REPORTS TO EVALUATE THEIR LOCAL UNION EMPLOYMENT SHARE.
