FOUNDATION PARTNERSHIPS:PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:CNE CONTINUES TO PARTICIPATE IN STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS TO PROVIDE CAPACITY-BUILDING SERVICES OUTSIDE OF THE CHARLOTTESVILLE REGION. THESE PARTNERSHIPS ARE FULLY-FUNDED BY THE INVITING FOUNDATION PARTNERS AND PROVIDE SUPPORT FOR CNE'S ACTIVITIES IN CHARLOTTESVILLE. IN FY 20, CNE CONTINUED ITS LONG-TERM STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP WITH THE PATH FOUNDATION IN WARRENTON, VA., WHERE CNE MANAGES, ON BEHALF OF THE PATH FOUNDATION, A NONPROFIT RESOURCE CENTER IN ITS TRI-COUNTY SERVICE REGION. CNE ALSO CONTINUED PARTNERING WITH THE CAMERON FOUNDATION IN PETERSBURG, VA AND THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF THE CENTRAL BLUE RIDGE IN STAUNTON, VA. SERVICES INCLUDE HOSTING REGIONALLY-RESPONSIVE WORKSHOPS, PROVIDING SHORT-TERM TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE, AND DELIVERING CAPACITY-BUILDING CONSULTING WITH NONPROFITS IN THOSE COMMUNITIES. ADDITIONALLY, CNE ENTERED INTO A NEW STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP WITH THE OBICI HEALTHCARE FOUNDATION.PROGRAM ACHIEVEMENTS:CNE PROVIDED 23 WORKSHOPS IN THE PATH FOUNDATION FOOTPRINT, WITH MORE THAN 185 PARTICIPANTS. TOPICS INCLUDED SOCIAL MEDIA, A REGIONAL PHILANTHROPY CONVERSATION, RESPONSIVE PROGRAMMING, CRAFTING A DEVELOPMENT PLAN, RENEWING YOUR PASSION, AND STRATEGIC PLANNING. ADDITIONALLY, CNE CONTINUES TO RESPOND TO TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE REQUESTS FROM NONPROFITS WITHIN EACH OF OUR STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP SERVICE AREAS.

CONSULTING:PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:CNE PROVIDES AND SOURCES CUSTOMIZED, FEE-BASED CONSULTING TO HELP NONPROFITS STRENGTHEN THEIR ORGANIZATIONS AND MANAGE CHANGE. AMONG CNE'S CONSULTING SERVICES, CNE PROVIDES CONSULTING SPECIFICALLY FOR COALITIONS THROUGH COLAB, CUSTOMIZED TRAININGS FOR AN ORGANIZATION/ENTITY THROUGH ONSITES, AND A CONSULTING MATCHING SERVICE (CONSULTCORPS) FOR ITS MEMBERS AND FOR NONPROFITS IN ITS STRATEGIC PARTNERS' SERVICE AREAS TO HELP NONPROFITS, WHO NEED OUTSIDE EXPERTISE TO BUILD CAPACITY, FIND CONSULTANTS WHO CAN BEST SUPPORT THEM. STAFF AND AFFILIATE CONSULTANTS HAVE DEEP EXPERIENCE PARTNERING WITH NONPROFITS OF ALL SIZES AND STAGES IN THEIR ORGANIZATIONAL LIFE CYCLE.PROGRAM ACHIEVEMENTS:THIS FISCAL YEAR, CNE RECEIVED 79 CONSULTING REQUESTS. CNE STAFF FULFILLED 25 OF THE REQUESTS, 19 REQUESTS WERE FORWARDED TO CONSULTCORPS AFFILIATE MEMBERS, AND 35 WERE FORWARDED TO NON-CONSULTCORPS AFFILIATE MEMBERS. CONSULTING TOPICS INCLUDED BOARD GOVERNANCE, STRATEGIC PLANNING, PHILANTHROPY, BUSINESS PLANNING, AND LEADERSHIP. COLAB EXTENDED ITS WORK PROVIDING GUIDANCE AND FACILITATION FOR BOTH EMERGING AND MATURE COALTIONS.

MEMBERSHIPS:IN FY 20, CNE MEMBERSHIP GREW TO AN ALL-TIME HIGH OF 320+. ONGOING MEMBERSHIP SERVICES INCLUDE (1) DISCOUNTED RATES FOR OUR WORKSHOPS, ADVANCED TRAININGS, AND ACADEMIES, (2) EXCLUSIVE ACCESS TO OUR LEADERSHIP CIRCLES, AND (3) HIGHLY-CUSTOMIZED TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AS WE RESPOND TO UNIQUE MEMBER CHALLENGES AND INQUIRIES. ADDITIONALLY, DURING FY 20 AND IN THE MIDST OF COVID-19, WE DEFERRED ALL MEMBERSHIP DUES BY THREE MONTHS IN RECOGNITION OF THE FINANCIAL HARDSHIP OUR MEMBERS WERE EXPERIENCING, WHILE ALSO PROVIDING PANDEMIC-RESPONSIVE WORKSHOPS AND SUPPORT GROUPS AT NO COST TO ENSURE ACCESSIBILITY TO MEMBERS AND NOT-YET MEMBERS ALIKE. AT THE SAME TIME, CNE HAS ADVOCATED STRONGLY ON BEHALF OF OUR MEMBERSHIP, AND THE NONPROFIT SECTOR AS A WHOLE, REGARDING THE CRITICAL PROGRAMS AND SERVICES THEY PROVIDE (ALWAYS, BUT ESPECIALLY DURING THE PANDEMIC) AND THE NEED FOR FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES AT THE FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL LEVELS.
