Organizations Filed Purposes:
Reduce maternal mortality in low resource areas through education and healthcare infrastructure. Each program is a specific partnership with community led projects to improve quality of health care service delivery, improve systems and remove barriers to care.
MHI is dedicated to respond and provide relief to pregnant women and children in areas where the burden of mortality is the highest. We are committed to reducing maternal, infant and child mortality rates by training midwives and birth workers and modeling sustainable birth centers using the midwifery model of care. Through the provision of education, structural support and reduction of barriers to high quality care, we partner with communities to create system level change.
Served over 3500 women in Uganda and Sudan for prenatal care and nutrition counseling, education, postpartum follow up, supporting local midwives in safe labor and delivery and post partum care.
Created ambulance and mobile care system in rural Uganda for midwives to reach mothers in remote areas for prenatal care, labor, delivery and post partum including Adjumani Refugee Camps
Sisters Keeper Doula Collective: Trained Community Health Workers to reduce perinatal mortality. Provided doula collective support to community in Virginia.
