ACT-IAC PROVIDES AN OBJECTIVE, VENDOR-NEUTRAL AND ETHICAL FORUM WHERE GOVERNMENT AND INDUSTRY EXECUTIVES CAN COMMUNICATE, COLLABORATE AND ACQUIRE EDUCATION. ACT-IAC DOES NOT LOBBY OR ACCEPT GOVERNMENT FUNDING.

CONFERENCES AND EVENTS: ACT-IAC SPONSORS THREE MAJOR CONFERENCESANNUALLY WHERE GOVERNMENT AND INDUSTRY EXECUTIVES MEET TO DISCUSS HIGH PRIORITY ISSUES AFFECTING THE GOVERNMENT'S USE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY, DEVELOP BEST PRACTICES AND FORGE SUCCESSFUL STRATEGIES FOR CREATING A MORE EFFECTIVE GOVERNMENT. THE ACQUISITION EXCELLENCE CONFERENCE PROVIDES A FORUM FOR GOVERNMENT AND INDUSTRY TO IDENTIFY IMPROVEMENTS TO THE FEDERAL ACQUISITION PROCESS. THE IGNITING INNOVATION CONFERENCE BRINGS TOGETHER INNOVATION LEADERS FROM ACROSS GOVERNMENT, INDUSTRY AND ACADEMIA TO IDENTIFY INNOVATION BEST PRACTICES AND RECOGNIZE PROGRAM SUCCESSES. THE EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE PROVIDES A FORUM FOR SENIOR EXECUTIVES FROM GOVERNMENT AND INDUSTRY TO COLLABORATE ON STRATEGIC AND POLICY ISSUES.

GOVERNANCE: GOVERNMENT ENGAGEMENT IN ACT-IAC IS VITAL TO THE ACCOMPLISHMENT OF THE ORGANIZATION'S MISSION. IT IS ALSO CRITICAL TO ATTRACTING INDUSTRY ENGAGEMENT. ACT-IAC IS NOT AN ADVOCATE FOR INDUSTRY OR ANY INTEREST OTHER THAN THE PUBLIC. ACT-IAC PRINCIPLES PRESERVE THE INTEGRITY OF THE PROCESS AS A TRUSTED AND OBJECTIVE FORUM. THEREFORE, THE GOAL IS TO INCREASE GOVERNMENT PARTICIPATION WITH A FOCUS ON CONNECTING WITH KEY GOVERNMENT STAKEHOLDERS; IDENTIFY WHY INDIVIDUALS ARE NOT ENGAGED; MEET WITH SENIOR LEVEL GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS ACROSS GOVERNMENT TO ENHANCE AWARENESS AND TO EDUCATE THE VALUE OF MEMBERSHIP IN ACT-IAC.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: A MAJOR ELEMENT OF THE ACT-IAC MISSION IS TO PROVIDE EDUCATION AND TRAINING TO ENHANCE THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF THE GOVERNMENT IT COMMUNITY. ACT-IAC SPONSORS THREE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS FOR GOVERNMENT AND INDUSTRY. THE ASSOCIATES PROGRAM PROVIDES AN INTRODUCTION TO THE WORKPLACE AND GOVERNMENT FOR ENTRY-LEVEL INDIVIDUALS. THE VOYAGERS PROGRAM PROVIDES MID-LEVEL EMPLOYEES WITH MANAGEMENT AND ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGES WHILE THE PARTNERS PROGRAM PROVIDES SENIOR-LEVEL EMPLOYEES WITH EDUCATION ON STRATEGIC AND POLICY ISSUES. THE LATTER TWO PROGRAMS ARE 10 MONTH PROGRAMS WHEREIN GOVERNMENT AND INDUSTRY EXECUTIVES ARE PAIRED DURING THE COURSE OF THE PROGRAM. ACT-IAC ALSO PROVIDES TRAINING COURSES ON TOPICS OF INTEREST TO THE GOVERNMENT IT COMMUNITY.
