Britepaths, Inc. provides our Fairfax County area neighbors in need with short-term safety-net services and empowers them to work toward long-term self-sufficiency.

Financial Empowerment Center at South County - the Center provides free financial education and resources. Education and access to resources are provided through one-on-one financial counseling where clients receive their credit report, assistance with budget or debt reduction, tax preparation/consultation, small business consultations, workforce development, and consumer legal advice. In addition, the program offers classes/workshops in different locations. 1,752 clients were served during 2019.
Seasonal Programs - The program matches families in need, who are referred by social workers, to sponsors who provide the families with food and gifts for Thanksgiving and the December holidays. Any families not matched to a sponsor are mailed gift cards which are donated to Britepaths or purchased from cash donations. 535 familes were served during Thanksgiving and the December holidays. In addition, the Back to School segment of the program provides school supplies and backpacks to our partner schools which distribute them to their students who are recipients of free and reduced price meals. 2,326 student were served during 2019 in the Back to School segment of the program.
Food Program - Britepaths coordinates a monthly food program by finding and matching a group of volunteers to a list of clients referred by government agencies. The volunteers typically pay for groceries and/or gift cards and deliver them to clients. In addition, Britepaths maintains a food pantry to make deliveries to families with urgent needs, where 202 families were served in 2019. Britepaths also provides vouchers to clients for purchasing fresh produce from 19 participating vendors at local farmers markets. In 2019, Britepaths offered 131 families 978 $10 vouchers, of which 613 were redeemed. The program also partners with area schools to provide healthy meals, drinks, and snacks over the weekend to children. In 2019, Britepaths partnered with 20 schools to serve 1,609 students each week.
