Fundraisers nationwide including Dig Pink volleyball events were held in support of Side-Outs breast cancer research. Funds raised were used for advancing the effective approach to the treatment of stage IV breast cancer. During the Fiscal Year 2020, the foundation concluded the enrollment of the latest Side-Out sponsored trial, a nationwide effort to help doctors understand and predict response to treatment in newly diagnosed metastatic breast cancer patients. This trial was conducted at 8 treatment centers across the country where individuals received treatment consisting of 1 of the 3 latest drugs utilizing multi-omic advanced diagnostics to identify CDK4/6 inhibitor response predictors and a post-treatment multi-omic signature for patients with ER+/HER2-metastatic breast cancer. Additionally, in 2020 the foundation launched a 50 patient pilot focused on getting 10 years of Side-Outs clinical research in the hands of patients nationwide through a personalized report utilizing our multi-omic precision medicine approach.
