Organizations Filed Purposes: THE MISSION OF CAMPAIGN FOR GREAT PUBLIC SCHOOLS (THE CAMPAIGN) IS TO PROVIDE LEADERSHIP, CAPITAL AND EXPERTISE TO ASSIST CITIES ACROSS THE UNITED STATES IN IMPROVING PUBLIC EDUCATION. THE CAMPAIGN OPERATES WITH THE BELIEF THAT IMPROVING PUBLIC EDUCATION IS ONE OF THE SUREST WAYS TO PROVIDE LEADERSHIP, CAPITAL, AND EXPERTISE TO ASSIST CITIES ACROSS THE UNITED STATES IN IMPROVING PUBLIC EDUCATION.

TO PROVIDE LEADERSHIP, EXPERTISE, AND ASSIST CITIES IN THE US TO IMPROVE PUBLIC EDUCATION.

IMPROVED PUBLIC EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES - TO SUPPORT AND IMPROVE PUBLIC SCHOOLS PROVIDING MEANINGFUL EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES, THE CAMPAIGN ALSO ENGAGES IN ADVOCACY AND LOBBYING ACTIVITIES. THE CAMPAIGN EXPECTS TO DEVOTE APPROXIMATELY HALF OF ITS TIME AND RESOURCES ON SUCH ACTIVITIES. THE CAMPAIGN'S ADVOCACY AND LOBBYING ACTIVITIES WILL FOCUS ON ACTIVITIES THAT ENHANCE THE OPPORTUNITY FOR SCHOOLS TO PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL ACCESS TO ALL CHILDREN.THE CAMPAIGN WILL MAKE GRANTS TO TAX-EXEMPT ORGANIZATIONS THAT ARE ENGAGED IN ADVOCACY AND LOBBYING ACTIVITIES AT THE LOCAL AND STATE LEVEL. THE CAMPAIGN GRANTS WILL SUPPORT ORGANIZATIONS THAT ARE ROOTED IN LOCAL COMMUNITIES AND FOCUSED ON PUBLIC EDUCATION MATTERS. THE CAMPAIGN WILL ALSO COLLABORATE WITH TAX-EXEMPT ORGANIZATIONS THROUGH ITS GRANT MAKING AND ALSO THROUGH KNOWLEDGE DISSEMINATION AND DEVELOPMENT ACROSS ITS NETWORK. IN THE FUTURE, THE CAMPAIGN MAY ALSO ENGAGE IN LIMITED AMOUNT OF DIRECT LOBBYING WHERE ITS STAFF ENGAGE ON PROPOSED LEGISLATION WITH STATE ELECTED OFFICIALS FOR MATTERS RELATED TO PUBLIC SCHOOL EDUCATION.

DEVELOPMENT OF AND SUPPORT FOR SCHOOL BOARD AND OTHER CANDIDATES- THE CAMPAIGN WILL SUPPORT QUALIFIED CANDIDATES RUNNING FOR SCHOOL BOARD AND OTHER ELECTED OFFICES THAT WILL HAVE A DIRECT IMPACT ON IMPROVING PUBLIC EDUCATION. BY INVESTING IN THE LEADERS WHO ARE PLACE-BASED AND COMMITTED TO IMPROVING PUBLIC SCHOOLS, THE CAMPAIGN HOPES TO HELP JUMP START THE GROWTH OF HIGH QUALITY PUBLIC SCHOOLS AN AFFILIATED EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING IN CITIES ACROSS THE COUNTRY.

COMMUNITY EDUCATION REGARDING EDUCATION POLICY- THE CAMPAIGN WILL COLLABORATE WITH LOCAL PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS TO SUPPORT AND DEVELOP EDUCATIONAL PUBLIC POLICY MATERIALS THAT ARE DISTRIBUTED TO THE PUBLIC AND POTENTIAL SCHOOL BOARD CANDIDATES. THE MATERIALS WILL FOCUS ON KEY POLICY ISSUES RELATED TO EDUCATIONAL OUTCOMES FOR CHILDREN IN THE NATION'S PUBLIC SCHOOLS. THE CAMPAIGN WILL WORK TO IMPROVE SOCIAL WELFARE FOR COMMUNITIES NATION-WIDE ABOUT EDUCATION POLICIES AND SYSTEMS WHICH CAN IMPACT STUDENT AND SCHOOL PERFORMANCE IN MEASURABLE WAYS.THE CAMPAIGN WILL ALSO PROVIDE RESOURCES, TRAINING, AND FEEDBACK TO COMMUNITY PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS TO SUPPORT THEM IN ENSURING THAT CHILDREN HAVE ACCESS TO MEANINGFUL EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES. LOCAL PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS WILL BE COMMUNITY-DRIVEN INITIATIVES THAT ARE THEMSELVES GENERALLY INCORPORATED AS NONPROFIT CORPORATIONS AND RECOGNIZED AS TAX-EXEMPT UNDER INTERNAL REVENUE CODE SECTION 50L(C)(3) OR 501(C)(4). BY WORKING WITH LOCAL PARTNERS, THE CAMPAIGN WILL SCALE THE IMPACT OF DATA-DRIVEN SOLUTIONS TO SEEMINGLY INTRACTABLE PROBLEMS IN THE DELIVERY OF EDUCATION NATIONWIDE.IN ITS EFFORT TO PROMOTE SOCIAL WELFARE, THE CAMPAIGN WILL ENGAGE WITH COMMUNITY STAKEHOLDERS AND EDUCATORS TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC ON EDUCATION POLICY IMPACT. THE CAMPAIGN WILL DO SO THROUGH CONVENINGS WITH LOCAL PARTNERS, ENGAGING WITH STAKEHOLDERS AND INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE WORKING TO SUPPORT PUBLIC SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT, AND BY DEVELOPING AND DISTRIBUTING EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS AND MATERIALS THROUGH A VARIETY OF DISTRIBUTION CHANNELS.
