Organizations Filed Purposes:
The exempt purpose of National Homeland Security Association (NHSA) is to support the exchange of information among jurisdictions that receive UASI (Urban Area Security Initiative) funding from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The most significant NHSA activity to accomplish this is an annual conference.
The National Homeland Security Association hosted its 13th annualconference in Phoenix, AZ gathering the Nations UASI / homeland security officials. The conference provided DHS training, a three (3) day main conference offering packed with educational breakout deliveries and providing Key Note addresses from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency, and City of Phoenix. There were seven tracks: 1) Cyber-security; 2) Public/Private Partnerships; 3) Grant Management; 4) Homeland Security Research, 5) Threat Planning and Response; 6) Intelligence Gathering and Sharing; and 7) Recent Events. The Phoenix Police and Fire Departments demonstrated their response assets. NHSA member UASI Program representatives met to conduct Association business and plan future gatherings.
