Organizations Filed Purposes:
To prevent cruelty to animals by implementing and executing programs to reduce euthanasia of companion animals and by educating the public about the proper care of companion animals and responsibilities of pet guardianship.
The Organization prevents cruelty to animals by providing free and subsidized veterinary care to low to moderate income families and to animal welfare organizations. The reduced cost care enables animal welfare organizations to maximize their funding which, in turn, helps them to rescue more animals. The free and reduced cost care provided to the public reduces the number of companion animals euthanized due to the pet guardians inability to pay for veterinary care for treatable illness or injury. The Organization also provides free and reduced cost spay/neuter surgeries to the public and animal welfare Organizations to reduce the number of unwanted animals euthanized at regional and county kill shelters. The Organization holds free clinics throughout the year to individuals who receive food stamps or who are at or below the poverty level. The clinics provide preventative, veterinary care and treatment for minor illness or injury. If more extensive treatment is needed, that is scheduled and provided during normal hospital hours.
Our Organization provides humane education to the public via print advertisements, information distributed at pet related events via our constant contact email newsletters and via our websites. The educational materials explain what care is needed for companion animals and why it is important. We inform the public about free spay/neuter vouchers and wellness clinics available through our hospital.
Our Organization provides pet food to animal welfare organizations and to low income families. We deliver pet food to human food pantries where it is distributed to pet guardians who are food stamp recipients. We also deliver pet food to the homes of low income, disabled personal who are pet guardians. These individuals live at or below the poverty level. We feed approximately 500 pets per month.
