Organizations Filed Purposes:
The mission of the VA Association of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America, Inc. is to promote personal growth and leadership development through family and consumer sciences. Focusing on the multiple roles of family member, wage earner, and community leader, members develop skills for life through: character development, creative and critical thinking, interpersonal communications, practical knowledge, and career preparation.
Conferences and meeting: Provide leadership training and operate competitive events related to Family & Consumer Sciences (FCS) curriculum for student members of Virginia FCCLA. This includes operation of the State Executive Council (SEC), which is the planning body for these conferences and meetings. Develop student organization programs and activities that reinforce the Virginia FCS curriculum(in middle and high schools) through operation of the Virginia FCCLA Board of Directors. Assist in the operation of Virginia Educators Rising conference and competitions.
Student members and leadership team participation in the FCCLA state planning meetings and in the virtual state competitions and virtual national leadership events; also includes program development assistance to FCCLA chapters across Virginia by members of the state leadership team.
Office operations, insurance, and legal fees needed to provide assistance to FCCLA members and chapters across Virginia as requested or as needed to maintain the organization. This assistance is for implementing and strengthening the VA FCCLA organization as an integral part of Family and Consumer Sciences instruction in high schools and middle schools in Virginia.
