Organizations Filed Purposes: To provide an intellectually safe environment where ideas can be discussed and transformed into practical solutions that produce results. To cultivate a society of "solutionists" within the minority communities. Equip scholars with the intellectual, moral, and financial support to conduct intensive research to discover the best solutions to social economic and political problems facing the African American community. Honor the legacy African American leader Dr. Robert Russa Moton by using his historic home at Holly Knoll, for training conferences and retreats.

TGI adapted to the challenges COVID -19 presented, and the organization was able to continue its leadership training mission by transitioning to a virtual platform. Moton Fellows Program Ten scholars from around the country participated in our virtual Moton Fellowship. This group of highly motivated undergraduate students received mentoring from some of the leading experts in business, government, and nonprofit organizations. Enhanced student leaders leadership acumen through facilitated workshops that focused on emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and leadership styles. This program challenged students to lead in a manner that inspired others to follow. Empowered students to write professionally through highly targeted practice workshops and critiques. Increased students ability to create precise, succinct, and informative business correspondence. The students gained practical knowledge on basic time management principles for the workplace. Completed assigned office projects that corresponded to their personal and professional development. We provided weekly critical thinking and problem-solving exercises to empower our students to become solutionists. TGI Cafs Brown Bag Series The popularity of our digital platform attracted nationally known influencers in business, education, and public service to engage in discourse on topics that ranged from socio-economic challenges to personal brand management. This program enabled students to consider alternative perspectives by offering diverse points of view on current events and the issues of the day. Emerging Leaders Program ELP strengthens students core writing, speaking, and critical thinking skills. Emerging Leaders are engaged in unique learning and mentoring opportunities that correspond to their personal development and leadership capabilities. Nineteen of the nation's best and brightest college leaders were selected from a rigorous application process. The student leaders participated in a virtual platform. Professional writers instructed students in the writing process to elevate their professional and technical writing. Empowered students to become more effective leaders through seminars that focused on emotional intelligence, self-awareness, leadership styles and the importance of integrity and trust, merits of self-sufficiency and tips on how to successfully lead a team. Engaged students in daily exercises that improved their critical thinking skills to solve complex problems and become solutionists. Field experts facilitated a discussion with our students and other interns from around Washington, DC to engage in conversation about educational policy and school choice. Empowered students to become financially literate through workshops that provided insights and tips to understand and make informed and effective decisions about their personal financial management, budgeting and investing. Presented student leaders with a series of dynamic career workshops led by experts that focused on the importance of your personal brand, social media, professional networking, and best practice instructions for dining etiquette. The student leaders learned the critical role grooming and styling plays in their professional and leadership development. Instructors were well-known stylists and barbers. Moton Forum Speaker Series TGI provided a speaker series with 5 nationally known speakers which engaged our community to have a conversation on topics as Solutions to Reduce Poverty in African American Communities and How to Drive Superior Results by Serving Others.
