COMMUNITY LIVING - VERSABILITY PROVIDES RESIDENTIAL SERVICES IN TEN HOUSES IN HAMPTON, NEWPORT NEWS, AND YORK COUNTY THAT PROVIDE A SAFE, SUPPORTIVE HOME FOR ADULTS WITH DISABILITIES. STAFF PROVIDE DIRECT SUPPORT 24 HOURS A DAY, 365 DAYS A YEAR TO ENSURE THE SAFETY AND SECURITY OF THE HOME AND ASSIST WITH MEDICAL, PERSONAL, AND SOCIAL ACTIVITIES. VERSABILITY'S HOMES ARE UNIQUE IN THAT THEY OFFER A VARIETY OF INDIVIDUALIZED AND GROUP LEISURE AND RECREATION OPPORTUNITIES FOR EVERY RESIDENT. DIETICIANS AND NURSES ARE AVAILABLE TO SUPPORT SHORT AND LONG-TERM HEALTH NEEDS AND A CERTIFIED THERAPEUTIC RECREATION SPECIALIST CREATES PROGRAMS AND EVENTS THAT ENCOURAGE A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE.
EMPLOYMENT SERVICES - AS 81% OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES IN THE HAMPTON ROADS REGION ARE UNEMPLOYED, WE ARE AN ENTREPRENEURIAL ORGANIZATION WITH EMPLOYMENT PROGRAMS AS OUR CORNERSTONE. VERSABILITY PROVIDES A VARIETY OF EMPLOYMENT OPTIONS THAT OFFER A WEALTH OF OPPORTUNITIES FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES. INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES IN VERSABILITY'S EMPLOYMENT SERVICES PROGRAMS IN HAMPTON AND GLOUCESTER RECEIVE PAID EMPLOYMENT, JOB TRAINING, AND SUPPORTS NOT TYPICALLY AVAILABLE IN OTHER BUSINESS SETTINGS (EX: MEDICATION ADMINISTRATION AND BEHAVIORAL PROMPTS). INDIVIDUALS PERFORM A VARIETY OF WORK, SUCH AS LIGHT MANUFACTURING, SCANNING X-RAYS AND DOCUMENTS, ORDER FULFILLMENT, AND COORDINATING MAILINGS. WE UTILIZE JIGS THAT HELP PEOPLE WITH MOBILITY ISSUES EXCEL IN WORK. VERSABILITY'S SKILLED WORKFORCE OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES MEETS REGIONAL BUSINESS NEEDS AND PROVIDES VALUABLE SUPPORT TO BUDDING ENTREPRENEURS.
