THE SPEECHES THEMSELVES ARE AS UNIQUE AS THE INDIVIDUALS THAT GIVE THEM. THE COMMON THREAD HOWEVER, IS THAT EACH ONE SHARES A MESSAGE FROM THE CITY TO ITS CITIZENS. IN NEWPORT NEWS, A KEY MESSAGE IS THAT GREAT LEADERSHIP AND GREAT RESULTS GROW OUT OF SUCCESSFUL PARTNERSHIPS WITH THE COMMUNITY. FOR MAYOR PRICE, THE STATE OF THE CITY EVENT WILL PROVIDE A VENUE TO CELEBRATE WITH CITY STAKEHOLDERS, CITIZENS AND BUSINESSES ALIKE, THE ACCOMPLISHMENTS THAT HAVE BEEN ACHIEVED AND TO LOOK TO THE FUTURE AS WE PLAN FOR YEARS TO COME.

TOTAL JOB FAIR - DEDICATED TO BRINGING TOGETHER EMPLOYERS AND POTENTIAL MILITARY EMPLOYEES WHO ARE ACTIVE-DUTY, RETIRED, RESERVIST, DOD CIVILIANS, THOSE RECENTLY SEPARATED FROM THE MILITARY AND THEIR DEPENDENTS. THE TOTAL JOB FAIR BRINGS TOGETHER EMPLOYERS AND POTENTIAL EMPLOYEES TO HELP UTILIZE THEIR UNIQUE SKILLS AND INTEGRATE THEM INTO A CIVILIAN CAREER PATH. THIS EVENT WAS FREE FOR POTENTIAL EMPLOYEES WHO WERE EXPECTED TO ARRIVE AT THE VENUE IN BUSINESS ATTIRE, AND WITH A PROPERLY PREPARED RESUME. SEMINARS WERE AVAILABLE TO ASSIST ATTENDEES IN HOW TO UTILIZE THE CAREER FAIR, AND HOW TO DEVELOP JOB SEARCH STRATEGIES.
