Organizations Filed Purposes:
The purposes of the organization are to encourage excellence in athletic education and performance, to support these efforts financially, to encourage student, parent and community participation in the athletic program, to foster athletic enjoyment and encourage lifelong appreciation of athletics, and to provide support and assistance to the athletes and coaches.
Representing and supporting 41 different teams of student athletes at Battlefield High School, the Athletic Booster Club ABC supplements existing school budgets in the areas of equipment, uniforms, officials, field maintenance, security, training facilities, and transportation to host all of these sports each season. Capital and facility improvements are also a part of the focus of the ABC.
At least two students per year are selected as scholarship recipients based upon a set of requirements posted on the organization's website. Requirements include provision of a completed application, core and cumulative GPA, SAT and/or ACT score, essay response, and participation in a varsity team sport for at least one season in both junior and senior school years. The graduating senior must be attending a college, university, community college, or trade school for the fall semester/quarter of the upcoming school year. Three student athletes in the 2019-2020 school year were chosen for student athlete awards. The scholarships were paid to the recipient schools in June 2020, totaling $4,500.
