All Ages Read Together is dedicated to educating children in need of free preschool programs.
All Ages Read Together's focus is building kindergarten readiness skills such as color, letter, shape and number recognition, early literacy, gross and fine motor skills, as well as classroom routines and socialization. During the 2018-19 school year, the students demonstrated an improvement of 74% in language and literacy, 53% in cognitive skills, 38% in fine motor ability, and 34% in social skills.Universal preschool is not part of public school in Virginia and only 18% of 4-5 year-olds attend preschool (NIEER, 2019). All Ages Read Together strategically places classes in low-income neighborhoods to remove transportation barriers. The classes are held in donated spaces in low-income housing complexes, senior centers, churches, and libraries.
