THERE WERE A TOTAL OF 89 CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES. HEAD START PROVIDES EACH CHILD WITH EDUCATIONAL SKILLS, HEALTH AND MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES, AND SPEECH AND HEARING SCREENINGS.
EMPLOYMENT SERVICES (CSBG): JOB TRAINING AND PLACEMENT IS AVAILABLE THRU THE LYN-CAG EMPLOYMENT SERVICES PROGRAM. THE PROGRAM ALSO PROVIDES EMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE BY OFFERING JOB LEADS, REFERRALS TO EMPLOYERS, ASSISTANCE WITH RESUME WRITING, USE OF AN ONSITE OPEN COMPUTER LAB AND GUIDANCE ON INTERVIEW TECHNIQUES. THE EMPLOYMENT SERVICES PROGRAM FOR THE 2019 PROGRAM YEAR WAS ABLE TO SECURE EMPLOYMENT FOR 55 LOW INCOME CLIENTS OUT OF A TARGET NUMBER OF 60, WHICH REPRESENTS A 92% PERFORMANCE TARGET ACCURACY. THE NUMBER OF JOB OPPORTUNITIES MAINTAINED IN THE COMMUNITY WAS 190.
HOUSING COUNSELING SERVICES (HOME, HOMELESS, HOUSING GRANTS): THE LYN-CAG HOUSING COUNSELING SERVICES DEPARTMENT OFFERS AN ARRAY OF SERVICES IN THE COMMUNITY THAT AIM TO STOP HOMELESSNESS. THE NON-PROFIT WORKS TO EXPAND HOMEOWNERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES, ASSIST CLIENTS WHO ARE FACING HOMELESSNESS / EVICTIONS AND PROVIDE EASIER ACCESS TO AFFORDABLE HOUSING. A TOTAL OF 233 RENT PAYMENTS WERE MADE, 75 PERSONS RECEIVED EVICTION COUNSELING, 39 PERSONS RECEIVED FINANCIAL CAPABILITY SKILL TRAINING.
