MDBTC MEMBER COMPANIES PRODUCE BATTERIES AND MEDICAL DEVICES THAT ARE DESIGNED, MANUFACTURED, AND TESTED TO STANDARDS ABOVE AND BEYOND THOSE REQUIRED BY ANY TRANSPORTATION REGULATORY AGENCY. MDBTC MEMBERS IMPLEMENT VOLUNTARY BEST PRACTICES TO ENHANCE THE QUALITY OF THEIR PRODUCTS AND DECREASE THE LIKELIHOOD OF INCIDENT OR PRODUCT FAILURE. MDBTC CONSIDERS HOW THESE BEST PRACTICES COULD BE IMPLEMENTED IN LIEU OF RESTRICTIONS THAT IMPACT CRUCIAL SUPPLY CHAINS. MDBTC CALLS FOR ENHANCED PACKAGING STANDARDS AND MODIFIED REQUIREMENTS TO INCENTIVIZE ADDITIONAL OVERSIGHT, QUALITY CONTROL AND/OR TESTING.
THE MISSION OF THE MEDICAL DEVICE BATTERY TRANSPORT COUNCIL (MDBTC) IS TO ADVOCATE FOR RESPONSIBLE REGULATIONS FOR THE TRANSPORTATION OF MEDICAL DEVICES AND THE LITHIUM CELLS AND BATTERIES THAT POWER THEM.
