PROVIDE ALL ANIMALS, BOTH LARGE AND SMALL, SAFE AND SANITARY LIVING CONDITIONS, PROTECTION FROM ABUSE AND NEGLECT AND ENVIRONMENTS FREE OF PAIN AND FEAR THROUGH COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAMS OF ASSISTANCE, EDUCATION AND, WHERE NECESSARY, INTERVENTION.
OUR MISSION IS TO PROVIDE SAFE AND SANITARY LIVING CONDITIONS, PROTECTION FROM ABUSE AND NEGLECT AND AN ENVIRONMENT FREE OF PAIN AND FEAR FOR ALL ANIMALS BOTH LARGE AND SMALL. OUR GOAL IS TO PROVIDE A HUMANE AND RESPONSIBLE COMMUNITY THROUGH OUTREACH PROGRAMS OF ASSISTANCE, EDUCATION AND, WHERE NECESSARY, INTERVENTION.
ANIMAL RESCUE, CARE AND ADOPTION - THE FOUNDATION CARED FOR 816 ANIMALS AND ADOPTED OUT 270 ANIMALS DURING THE YEAR. MANY OF THESE ANIMALS CAME FROM POOR CONDITIONS AND REQUIRED MEDICAL TREATMENT FROM NEGLECT AND ABUSE THEY ENDURED.
PUBLIC AWARENESS AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS - THE FOUNDATION PARTICIPATED IN LOCAL EVENTS, SETTING UP BOOTHS TO DISTRIBUTE INFORMATION AND TO SHOWCASE ANIMALS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION. EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS WERE HELD AT THE SHELTER FACILITY FOR SCHOOL AND COMMUNITY YOUTH ORGANZATIONS TO LEARN ABOUT RESPONSIBLE AND HUMANE ANIMAL CARE. MONTHLY NEWSLETTERS WERE PUBLISHED AND DISTRIBUTED VIA EMAIL, SOCIAL MEDIA AND WEBSITE TO KEEP THE COMMUNITY INFORMED ABOUT ANNUAL WELFARE ISSUES AND ACTIVITIES. OBEDIENCE CLASSES WERE HELD IN THE SPRING AND FALL FOR BOTH SHELTER DOGS AND ADOPTED DOGS AND THEIR GUARDIANS. THE CHAINED DOG PROGRAM PROVIDED PET FOOD AND OTHER SUPPLIES SUCH AS COLLARS, DOG HOUSES AND BEDDING TO DOMESTIC ANIMALS BELONGING TO LOW INCOME FAMILIES.
MEDICAL & FOOD ASSISTANCE PROGRAM - IN 2019, THE FOUNDATION FACILITATED VERTERINARY CARE FOR 48 CLIENTS IN FIVE COUNTIES, OPERATED A FOOD ASISTANCE PROGRAM WITH TEH GOAL OF INTAKE DIVERSION AND PROVIDED CANNED AND DRY FOOD FREE OF CHARGE TO COMMUNITY CAT COLONY CARETAKERS AND FAMILIES IN NEED OF TEMPORARY HELP FEEDING COMPANION ANIMALS.
