The Child Care Center was begun to provide Christian Child Care to children age 6 weeks to 12 years so their parents can work. The Child Care Center operates 12 months a year, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. During the summer, the school-aged children participate in full-day, activity-oriented day camp program. The uniqueness of the child care program is the addition of Bible Stories for the preschoolers and children. All the staff are Christian. The Child Care Center is licensed by the state of Virginia to provide care to up to 165 children. The program is operated on a non-profit basis. The Child Care Center operates from the Family Life Center (gym building) of the Mechanicsville Baptist Church.
