INCREASE AWARENESS OF BIOPESTICIDES AS EFFECTIVE PRODUCTS, REALIZE FURTHER IMPROVEMENTS TO THE REGULATORY PROCESS AROUND THE WORLD AND PROVIDE VALUABLE NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES
THE ALLIANCE'S PROGRAMS ARE GEARED TO IMPROVE THE GLOBAL MARKET PERCEPTION OF BIOPESTICIDES AS EFFECTIVE PRODUCTS AND THE FACILITATION OF SUCCESSFUL REGISTRATON PROCESSES FOR BIOPESTICIDES. In September, 2015, the Biopesticide Industry Alliance celebrated its 15th anniversary at its semi-annual fall meeting in Alexandria, VA. The meeting was marked by record attendance and an active membership now approaching 100 companies. BPIA includes several committees that bring together the resources and the focus necessary to achieve the organizations many objectives. The committee meets periodically with key regulators at US EPA, California DPR and Canadas PMRA; individual members officially represent BPIA on the PRIA coalition and EPAs Pesticide Program Dialogue Committee (PPDC); other members cover key stakeholder meetings and often provide comments on behalf of the industry. Interactions with the regulators are utilized to raise and resolve issues, comment constructively on emerging policies and regulations, and learn how registrants can improve their submissions. The committee disseminates its findings to the membership via minutes posted on the website, email updates, and reports at membership meetings. Input and questions from BPIA member companies regarding regulatory issues are welcome.
