Organizations Filed Purposes:
The mission of Patriots For Disabled Divers (PFDD) is to provide the physical, psychological and social benefits of scuba diving to individuals living with cognitive and/or physical disabilities and their family members.
The purpose of the organization is to make the adventure and benefits of scuba available to the underserved, at risk, disabled or otherwise disadvantaged individuals. We work closely with disabled veterans.
In 2020 we approved and provided PADI and/or HSA scuba training to 40 participants. This included 38 for OW training and 2 for reactivation training. The Covid-19 restrictions in 2020 affected our ability to handle additional applicants. Training was accomplished by using 8 approved and authorized dive shops in 7 states.
