Organizations Filed Purposes: THE ASSOCIATION PROVIDES FINANCIAL AND VOLUNTEER SUPPORT TO ENABLE THE U.S. ARMY WOMEN'S MUSEUM, FORT LEE, VIRGINIA, TO CONDUCT EDUCATION PROGRAMS, CREATE EXHIBITS, AND PRESERVE AND SHARE ARTIFACTS ABOUT ARMY WOMEN'S HISTORY.

THE ASSOCIATION SUPPORTS THE U.S. ARMY WOMEN'S MUSEUM BY PROVIDING FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR THE TRAINING OF SOLDIER HISTORY, CUSTOMS, AND HERITAGE THAT SUPPORT BOTH MILITARY AND CIVILIANS. FINANCIAL SUPPORT IS PROVIDED THROUGH SPECIAL EXHIBITS, PRESENTATIONS, SPECIAL INTEREST PANELS, EDUCATION, AND OUTREACH PROGRAMS PROVIDED TO SOLDIERS, STUDENTS, AND CIVILIANS THROUGHOUT VIRGINIA. THE MUSEUM'S EXHIBITS ARE VISITED BY AND USED TO TRAIN OVER 15,000 PLUS SOLDIERS EACH YEAR.

THE ASSOCIATION ASSISTS THE U.S. ARMY WOMEN'S MUSEUM AT FORT LEE, VIRGINIA WITH VISITOR SERVICES, PUBLIC OUTREACH, AND VOLUNTEER SUPPORT DURING THE FISCAL YEAR. THE ASSOCIATION'S 20 PLUS VOLUNTEERS PROVIDED OVER 4,100 HOURS OF VOLUNTEER SERVICE TO THE MUSEUM TO SUPPORT EDUCATION AND COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAMS SUCH AS RETIREE APPRECIATION EVENTS, WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH CELEBRATION, VETERANS' DAY, WOMEN'S EQUALITY DAY, WORLD WAR II RECOGNITION CELEBRATION, AND THE VIRGINIA WOMEN'S SUMMITS HELD THROUGHOUT THE STATE OF VIRGINIA. THE ASSOCIATION PROVIDED THE FUNDRAISING SUPPORT FOR THE NEW GALLERY RE-DESIGN, LIGHTING, GARDEN PANELS FOR THE MEMORIAL GARDEN WHICH OPENED IN NOVEMBER OF 2018.

THE ASSOCIATION HAS A MAJOR FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN TO SUPPORT 100% RENOVATION OF THE MUSEUM. THERE WAS A GRAND RE-OPENING IN THE FALL OF 2018. THE CAMPAIGN WAS FOR A COMPLETE RESET OF ALL EXHIBITS AND ARTIFACTS WITHIN THE MUSEUM. THE ASSOCIATION CONTINUES TO RAISE FUNDS BY SELLING BRICKS THAT ARE LOCATED IN FRONT OF THE MUSEUM AROUND THE FEMALE WARRIOR STATUE. THIS PERMANENT OUTDOOR EXHIBIT PAYS TRIBUTE TO THE MEN AND WOMEN WHO HAVE SERVED THIS NATION. THE BOARD OF DIRECTOR'S FUNDRAISING EVENTS AND ANNUAL HOLIDAY GIFTWRAPPING EVENT RAISE FUNDS TO SUPPORT THE MUSEUM'S MANY ONGOING PROJECTS NOT PAID FOR BY THE GOVERNMENT.
