Organizations Filed Purposes:
The organizational purpose is to expand the presence and availability of Kundalini yoga and to improve the lives of impoverished populations. We fund humanitarian projects and volunteer efforts to directly impact people's lives.
Sat Nam Foundation operated the following programs in 2020:Community Yoga Offerings: 1.Online Yoga Classes by donation (Balance Bethlehem Virtual Yoga Studio)Free virtual yoga and meditation classes offered since the onset of the pandemic. Kundalini Yoga classes via Zoom as well as other styles of yoga and meditation. Classes are offered free of charge and registration but donations accepted by those able to contribute to support our physical yoga location, Balance Bethlehem in Bethlehem, NH. 2.Kundalini Yoga Level 1 Teacher TrainingTeacher Training offered through the Balance Bethlehem online platform as well as in-person at the studio. Proceeds from the training were used to support the physical yoga studio. Covid-19 Emergency Fund (Giving Sat Nam):To help fulfill the needs of members of our community who ask for financial assistance during the Covid-19 economic crisis.Love Orphanage in Haiti:The orphanage staff is currently building a new home for the children to live in but they need clean water and reliable power. Fundraising goals of $20,000 to build a clean water system and an additional $30,000 to install a full solar power system. Program launched in 2020 - still in the fundraising stage.Tashirat:(Current - dry toilets and grey water system installed; greenhouses activated)We are currently working with Tierra Negra for a quote on the dry toilets and the grey water system. In Labor and Material, we approximate $30,000.In order to install 3 rainwater harvesting systems, we approximate $9,000.Activation of the greenhouses could cost up to $5,000 in tools, fertilizer, seeds, labor, etc.When we reach all of our goals, then we can help them initiate a solar system!Manjushree Orphanage:(Current - kitchen construction complete)With your help, we are building a kitchen able to feed 300 children daily for Manjushree.The current kitchen was built to feed 30 children. Staff is currently living in small huts not well equipped for harsh Himilayan weather. The new kitchen will also include housing for the kitchen staff. Nambale Magnet School:Nambale Magnet School is a residential school for children orphaned or otherwise rendered vulnerable by AIDS in rural western Kenya. 430 children learn and grow at the school, with over 250 living on-site.The school focuses on empowering children through a sustainable living model.They grow food on the premises for and with the children. They dream to be a model eco-school with sustainable, off-grid systems that support both their own safety, security and self-sufficiency as well as the health of the planet. The model of the school is meant to be replicated in other parts of Africa.
