THE SOCIETY FOR THE STUDY OF REPRODUCTION PROMOTES DISCOVERY THROUGH THE HIGHEST QUALITY CURIOSITY-DRIVEN BASIC RESEARCH INTO BIOLOGICAL AND CELLULAR PROCESSES INVOLVED IN REPRODUCTION, PROMOTES THE REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH OF HUMANS AND ANIMALS, TRAINS THE NEXT GENERATION OF REPRODUCTIVE SCIENTISTS, AND IS THE GLOBAL LEADER IN THE DISCUSSION OF ISSUES RELATED TO REPRODUCTION AND REPRODUCTIVE TECHNOLOGIES.
THE SOCIETY FOR THE STUDY OF REPRODUCTION IS AN ASSOCIATION OF SCIENTISTS AND PHYSICIANS INTERESTED IN RESEARCH IN ALL FIELDS OF REPRODUCTIVE BIOLOGY. SOME MEMBERS ARE ENGAGED IN BASIC OR APPLIED RESEARCH, WHILE OTHERS PERFORM CLINICAL PRACTICE. ALL ARE DEDICATED TO ADVANCING KNOWLEDGE OF REPRODUCTIVE PROCESSES IN ANIMALS AND IN HUMANS.
THE SOCIETY FOR THE STUDY OF REPRODUCTION HOLDS ANNUAL MEETINGS AT WHICH SCIENTISTS PRESENT DATA, LEARN THE LATEST INFORMATION IN THEIR FIELD, AND MEET FELLOW SCIENTISTS. THE SOCIETY DEVELOPS OUTWARD-LOOKING MEETINGS THAT INCORPORATE BREADTH, INNOVATION, EMERGING AREAS, AND EXCELLENCE AT THE CUTTING EDGE OF RESEARCH. THE SOCIETY ALSO CONTINUES TO PROMOTE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF THE NEXT GENERATION OF REPRODUCTIVE SCIENTISTS BY CREATING PROGRAM, NETWORKING, AND DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR TRAINEES AND YOUNG PROFESSIONALS. THE SOCIETY FOR THE STUDY OF REPRODUCTION INFORMS ITS MEMBERS OF CURRENT POLICY AND FUNDING ISSUES RELATED TO SCIENCE: RESEARCH FUNDING, ANIMAL USE, ETHICS, ETC. THE SOCIETY ALSO SPEAKS FOR ITS MEMBERS AT THE NATIONAL LEVEL. A VOICE REPRESENTING THOUSANDS OF SCIENTISTS HAS MORE CLOUT THAN A LETTER FROM A SINGLE INDIVIDUAL.
THE SOCIETY FOR THE STUDY OF REPRODUCTION PUBLISHES THE JOURNAL "THE BIOLOGY OF REPRODUCTION," THE NUMBER ONE JOURNAL IN THIS AREA OF RESEARCH. "THE BIOLOGY OF REPRODUCTION" PUBLISHES ORIGINAL RESEARCH PAPERS AND MINIREVIEWS ON A BROAD RANGE OF TOPICS IN THE FIELD OF REPRODUCTIVE BIOLOGY.
