Organizations Filed Purposes:
The purposes of the MCV Hospitals Auxiliary of VCUHS are to--1)Provide support for the patients, families and staff at VCUHS through service, grant funding and special activities and 2)Provide an inviting and supportive environment to encourage volunteers in their service.
The Auxiliary made grants totaling $337,722 to MCV Foundation to support various departments within the VCU Health System (VCUHS)with equipment and/or programs not funded through the departments' budgets. VCUHS is a not-for-profit teaching hospital which, among other activities, provides substantial charitable health care to the Richmond community. The Auxiliary organizes and provides volunteers to the hospital to assist as needed.
The Auxiliary made grants totaling $59,534 to the Children's Hospital Foundation. The Children's Hospital Foundation works in support of the regions only full-service childrens hospital, Childrens Hospital of Richmond at VCU, and the nearly 60,000 children it serves each year. Based in Richmond, Virginia, Children's Hospital Foundation has been dedicated for more than 95 years to fund and advocate for pediatric initiatives that improve the status of health care and quality of life for children. We believe there is no greater cause than taking care of the health care needs of children.
The Auxiliary purchased $35,987 of books and supplies for the Arthur Ashe 'Books 4 Kids' program, a VCUHS program whose mission is to promote family literacy by encouraging reading through book ownership.
